string quartet no. 1

This piece is a contemplation of beauty—of what is or is not beautiful, and the objective qualities that make something beautiful: resilience, rarity, purity, complexity. It might be better to say that the piece is more so interested in the contextualization of beauty, and what it means for anything to be beautiful at all.
